Create your first resume!

Hello boys and girls!

Today you will create your very first resume.

BUT FIRST

What is a resume?

A résumé is a document that contains a summary of relevant job experience and education. The résumé is typically the first item that an employer looks at when you apply for a job. If the résumé is interesting, the employer schedules an interview.

A résumé should contain:

  • Your name, addree and age (or birthday)

  • Current occupation (student, worker, etc.)

  • Your education (current level of study, the grade you are in)

  • Your work experience (example: babysitting, cutting the grass for neigbors, painting a fence, etc.)

  • Your life experience (implication at school, cultural events, sports, hobbies, special talents, etc.)

  • Any relevant information (the Red-Cross babysitting card, etc.)

Now, answer the questions on your paper about the résumé.

Now that you know what a résumé is, you will have to create your own.
